Horace Stinson

WAPPAPELLO - Horace Abner Stinson, 83, died Dec. 12, 2002, at the Three Rivers Healthcare South Campus in Poplar Bluff.

Born Dec. 16, 1918, at Bullicktown, Ind., son of the late Lee and Mary Arterberry Stinson, he had been a farmer and served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

On March 30, 1946, at Piggott, Ark., he married Josephine Marie Treadway who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Douglas Ray Stinson of Puxico; two daughters, Connie Joann Floyd of Cedar Hill and Angela Yvonne Walker of Wappapello; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were four brothers, Elmer Stinson, Loren Stinson, Hollis Stinson and George Stinson; and three sisters, Ethel Fortune, Helen Fuwell and Annie Sapp.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Kenneth Lambert and the Rev. Ricky White will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery.
