Lily Summerfield

EAST PRAIRIE - Lily Christine Summerfield, 84, died at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 12, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born July 18, 1918, in Sheffield, Ala., daughter of the late Thomas Lenon and Lily Pearl King Hale, she was a lifelong resident of East Prairie where she was a member of the First Church of God.

On July 24, 1937, at Kennett, she married Paul Charles Summerfield who preceded her in death on May 23, 1991.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles Daniel Summerfield of Festus and Daryl Summerfield of East Prairie; two brothers, Charles Hale and T.L. Hale Jr. of St. Louis; one sister, Lucille Summerfield of East Prairie; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

Services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. today at the First Church of God in East Prairie with the Rev. Rob Kespelher, pastor, officiating.

Burial followed in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.

Pallbearers will be: Doug Hutcheson, Roger Brooks, Chuck Davis, Frank Hanor, Bob Hanor and Ronnie Wallace.
