Berry Holder
DEXTER - Berry Holder, 88, died May 20, 2002, at his home.
Born Jan. 21, 1914, in Clarkton, son of the late Oscar Summers and Bertha Pearl Siegers Holder, he lived in Dexter since 1951, where he was manager of Stovall's Department Store for 25 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter, where he had been Sunday school superintendent, choir director, Sunday school teacher and had served on the church board.
On Nov. 24, 1938, in Dexter, he married Inez Daniel who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Alice Holder of Annapolis, Md., Jerry and Joan Holder of Columbus, Ga., and Larry and Mary Holder of Bourbonnais, Ill.; one sister, Louise Campbell of Kennett; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
One brother, Floyd Holder, preceded him in death in 1989.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Vaughn Wright of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
