Nola Beard
BURTON, Mich. - Nola B. Beard, 71, formerly of Parma, Mo., died April 16, 2002, at Genesys Health Park in Grand Blanc.
Born Feb. 17, 1931, in Parma, daughter of the late Olcy and Vera Hicks Allen, she lived in the Burton area for the past 49 years. She was a member of the Davison Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 299, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America No. 28 and a member and supporter of the Old Newsboys. She was a general supervisor for GM Metal Fab for 29 years before retiring in 1982.
On March 23, 1951, in Piggott, Ark., she married Albert "John" Beard, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Milt Richter and Terri and Ron Wilt of Burton; one son, Ronald Beard of Clio; one sister, Alta Walls of Burton; one brother, James O. Allen of Burton; and eight grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister Mildren Evans; three brothers James R. Wilson, Nelvin Wilson and Gerald Allen; and one grandson John Wilt.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at Groves Chapel Hensen Funeral Home in Davison where a memorial services will be conducted by Davison Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 299 at 7 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
