VALRICO, Fla. - Sarah Carolyn Alfultis, 101, died at 2 p.m. Jan. 25, 2005, at her home in Valrico. Born March 16, 1903, in East Prairie, Mo., daughter of the late Benton Lafayette and Clara Clarinda Bonifield Barnhill, she was a retired teacher and had taught at Blodgett, Mo., Vanduser, Mo., and Oran, Mo., public schools. ...

VALRICO, Fla. - Sarah Carolyn Alfultis, 101, died at 2 p.m. Jan. 25, 2005, at her home in Valrico.

Born March 16, 1903, in East Prairie, Mo., daughter of the late Benton Lafayette and Clara Clarinda Bonifield Barnhill, she was a retired teacher and had taught at Blodgett, Mo., Vanduser, Mo., and Oran, Mo., public schools. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Oran where she was a Sunday school teacher and church board trustee. She was also a member of the Oran Library Board, W.S.C.S. United Methodist Women and the Oran Garden Club.

On Sept. 11, 1927, she married Henry O. Alfultis who preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1975.

Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Richard Joe Alfultis of North Bethesda, Md.; one daughter, Kay AuBuchon of Valrico; and four grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-stepgrandchildren.

Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Oran where visitation will continue after 9 a.m. Saturday until time for services at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Karen Taylor will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.

Pallbearers will be: Bill Hency, Bob Daughtery, John Jones, Glenn Nothdurft, Tom Urhahn and Clinton Hodges.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Cleve Jolly, Ormar Hodges and Louis Roberts.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
