SIKESTON - Harry C. Young of Sikeston, Sunday was elected president of the state organization of the United National Association of Post Office Clerks. He succeeds Henry F. Nabe of St. Louis.
SIKESTON - Roy Bone, manager of the Sikeston Chamber of Commerce, was elected by his associates as board member of the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Missouri in a business session of the organization May 15.
SIKESTON - To become part of a new musical group being formed, a Sikeston physician dug out a flute he hadn't played in over 30 years. He took the flute to be cleaned and repaired and was told, "You can't repair this thing. You'll have to replace it." "I don't want to replace it," Dr. Robert Ahlvin, pathologist at Missouri Delta Community Hospital, quickly retorted. "I want it repaired." And it was. Then Ahlvin went on to become a member of the "Golden Oldies."
SIKESTON - Guy Jenkins, owner and operator of J's Playland, has become an expert miniature golfer since the opening of his recreational facility. The miniature golf course features several electric obstacles and golfers can sip sodas and munch on chips after they finish their challenging game. Playland is located at 128 N. Kingshighway in Sikeston.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston Little Theater is producing a children's show entitled "Readin', Ritin', and Rockin'" from May 28-30. Performing in the show are Trina Swogger, Lauren Mosley, Mandy Davis, Elizabeth Sikes, Ben Chessor and Justin Hale. The production is being directed by David Ziegenhorn and Connie Thompson.
