BLOOMFIELD - The Board of Education of the Bloomfield R-14 School District has accepted the application of Charles L. Nelson for principal of the high school. He succeeds Wayne Walker who resigned last month.
DEXTER - Big Red Shadow, a horse owned by Johnson Stables of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., was 1981 winner of the Missouri State Championship Horse competition. This year's State Championship Horse Show is planned May 29 at the Dexter Fairgrounds with $3,400 in prize money.
SIKESTON - Sikeston sophomore Glendan Guttenfelder ran away from the field in the 110 high hurdles at the SEMO Conference meet and he hopes to do the same at Saturday's district meet which will be held in Jackson. Guttenfelder could be challenged by teammate Michael Richardson, who was second in last week's competition.

EAST PRAIRIE - When the project began, Alberta Bishop could not foresee any problems. She set out with a tape measure and small shovel anticipating completion in a relatively short period of time. Now, three years later, Mrs. Bishop knows the Dogwood Cemetery literally foot by foot and has found her undertaking a monumental task - but one she's determined to finish. The project, providing a detailed and up-to-date record of who is buried in the cemetery, named for the community in which it is located, has been time consuming.
