Elmo Jones
ESSEX -- Elmo Jones, 80, died Oct. 30, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born July 22, 1922, at Graham, Texas, son of the late Stanley G. and Veda Gluber Jones, he was a boiler technician at the John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff before retiring. He served with the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean War.
On Nov. 10, 1965, at Essex, he married Patsy Mofield who preceded him in death on April 30, 1986.
Survivors include: two sons, Mick Jones of Essex and Kenneth Mofield of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and seven grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kelley Dale Jones; one brother, Stanley Jones; and one sister, Mary Norman.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. W.H. Worth and the Rev. Dale Shearon will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
