John Odom
SCOTT CITY -- John Albert Odom, 82, died at 8:06 a.m. Oct. 30, 2002, at Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 28, 1920, at Fornfelt, son of the late Jesse Allen and Amanda Meinz Odom, he was employed by the Corps of Engineers, working in the engine room on dredge. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
On March 20, 1943, at Benton, he married Virginia Ida Hahn who preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 1994.
Survivors include: one son, John Allen Odom of Scott City; one sister, Marjorie Kesterson of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and one grandchild.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Rennie Phillips will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Lightner Memorial Cemetery at Scott City.
