Gilbert Tribble
PORTAGEVILLE - Gilbert Tribble, 88, died Oct. 13, 2002, at his home.
Born July 24, 1914, in Harviell, son of the late Dewitt Tribble and Louise Pearce Tribble Berry, he grew up in Lone Hill. He was a mechanic and member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Portageville.
On May 30, 1936, in Portageville, he married Marie Black who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, the Rev. Gilbert "Wayne" Tribble and Gregory Tribble of Portageville and Edward Tribble of Kennett; five daughters, Shelbia Robbins of Kennett, Geraldine Purser of Senath and Bonnie Harris, Ila Tribble and Barbara Eagle of Portageville; and 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Inez Laverne Tribble; and three brothers, Raymond Tribble, Leo Tribble and Floyd Lawrence.
Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Vernon Purser officiating.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Derek Purser, Patrick Purser, Mike Tribble, Jonathan Dowler, Jordan Davis and Kevin Fowler.
