Billie Sander
JACKSON - Rosamond "Billie" Spurrier Sander, 86, formerly of Sikeston, died Oct. 13, 2002, at her home.
Born Jan. 5, 1916, in Jackson, daughter of the late Emanuel and Lillian Armstrong Milde, she was a 1933 graduate of Jackson High School. A 1935 graduate of Lindenwood College in St. Louis and 1937 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau, she was a teacher in the Cape Girardeau, Jackson and Sikeston schools before retiring in 1973. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, member of Chapter DJ of PEO Sisterhood in Jackson and Chapter HB of PEO Sisterhood in Sikeston and the John Guild Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
On Jan. 24, 1942, she married Frank S. Miller who preceded her in death on July 16, 1954.
She and Charles W. Sander were married Aug. 5, 1966, and he survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three stepdaughters, Cathy Sievers, Sharon Dreyer and Carol Rees of Jackson; her daughter-in-law, Marsha Dement Miller Sander of Jackson; two grandsons, Frank Emanuel Miller and Trentis Eugene Miller; and 11 stepgrandchildren, Sherri Peysock, Nancee Flowers, Catheryn Hartle, Dennis Sievers, David Sievers, Doug Sievers, Paul Sievers, Darrell Sievers, Chris Jauch, Cara Jauch and Tyson Rees; and 16 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two sons, David Brian Miller and Bruce Emanuel Miller; and two sisters.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Dr. Grant F.C. Gillard, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
