Alva Boyts

CHAFFEE - Alva Rea Boyts, 76, died Oct. 13, 2002, at her home.

Born Sept. 30, 1926, at Ponder, daughter of the late Mark Lafatte and Ola Velma Corlee Holland, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chaffee.

On Oct. 13, 1948, she married Stirling Harbin Boyts who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Janet Loucks of Chaffee and Tamara Hindman of Advance; four brothers, Samuel Holland of Gresham, Ore., Lloyd Holland and James Holland of Biloxi, Miss., and Mark Holland of Glen Burnie, Md.; two sisters, Velma Free of Poway, Calif., and Lavetta Holland of Biloxi; and two grandchildren, Jillian L. Carilli of Whidbey Island, Wash., and John S. Loucks of Savannah, Ga.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. Thursday until service time at 7 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Gerald Collier, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston will officiate.
