Norma Phillips
SIKESTON - Norma Gene St. Sauver Phillips, 63, formerly of St. Louis, died at 9:15 a.m. July 25, 2002, at her daughters' home, following an extended illness.
Born March 11, 1939, in Curry County, N.M., daughter of the late Harvey B. and Geneva P. Lilly Seaton, she graduated in 1991 from Forest Park Community College in St. Louis with an associate degree in early childhood development and was a Cub Scout volunteer in St. Louis. She was a daycare provider for 10 years at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis. After moving to Sikeston in 1994, she continued as a Cub Scout volunteer and was presented the Silver Beaver Award in 1997 from the Boy Scouts of America for 25 years in scouting and was also recently presented with the Wood Badge Award. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, where she taught Sunday school for eight years and worked with the Mother's Day Out program.
Survivors include: two sons, Peter St. Sauver of Cape Girardeau and Chief Petty Officer Paul St. Sauver, stationed on the USS Constellation in San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Donna Protzel of Sikeston; and four grandchildren, Isaac Protzel, Alexander Protzel and Ethan Protzel of Sikeston and Joshua St. Sauver of San Diego.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Koch, pastor, officiating.
