Buster York
DEXTER - Buster Bill York, 91, died May 28, 2002, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center.
Born Dec. 12, 1910, near Dudley, son of the late George M. and Clora N. Jiles York, he was a repairman for General Motors in Pontiac, Mich., before retiring and member of the Dudley Church of God.
On Dec. 24, 1935, at Dexter, he married Julia Aline Wooley who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Dinah King of Schwartz Creek, Mich.; two sisters, Sarah Poole of St. Louis and Georgia Graves of Dexter; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Wayne York; two brothers, Lester F. York and Charles York; and four sisters, Alma Eagle, Emma Emerling, Louella Kosolow and Mabel Ballentine.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. Friday until service time at noon at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Jerry Metcalf will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter.
