DEXTER -- Floyd William Harris, 84, died June 1, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare in Bloomfield.

Born Aug. 29, 1917, near Advance, son of the late John and Bertie Sims Harris, he worked as an auto dealer before his retirement and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield and of the Masonic Lodge 488 in Detroit, Mich.

On Jan. 13, 1940, he married Thelma Williams who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Jack Harris of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Judy Dall of Farmington Hills, Mich.; and one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Don Dunivan will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
