Kathy Alsup

EAST PRAIRIE - Kathy Sue Alsup, 49, died at 4:20 a.m. June 1, 2002, at her sister's residence.

Born June 26, 1952, in Sikeston, daughter of the late William T. and Maudie Johnson Alsup, she lived all her life in East Prairie, graduating from East Prairie High School in 1970. After graduating from Southeast Missouri State University in 1974, she was employed by the East Prairie R-2 schools where she taught eighth and ninth grade English for 28 years. She also worked at Winks Convenience store in East Prairie and was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include: two sisters and one brother-in-law, Georgia Dodge and Jo Ellen and Gene Cade of East Prairie; and several nieces and nephews.

One sister, Maudie Alsup, and one nephew, Stephen Dale McIntosh, also preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home where services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with Jon Archie officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.

Pallbearers will be: Jared Williams, Mike Miller, Kenny Latham, Ron Howell, Jack McIntosh, Dr. Jim Heath and Jim Blumenberg.
