Mildred Woods

EAST PRAIRIE - Mildred Marie Woods, 61, died at 11:59 p.m. April 4, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Nov. 30, 1940, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Robert Vester Kirby and Mildred Johnson Kirby Crowe, she lived in Mississippi County all her life and was of the Baptist belief.

On Sept. 23, 1957, she married Bobby Gene Woods who preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1995.

Survivors include: three sons, Tony Woods and Mark Woods of Piedmont and Randy Woods of East Prairie; two daughters, Michelle Nunn and Holly Humphrey of East Prairie; one stepson, Michael Elam of Piedmont; two brothers, John "Bo" Kirby and George Kirby of East Prairie; three sisters, Ruth Burns of Diehlstadt and Nancy Hedges and Bonnie Brown of East Prairie; and 12 grandchildren.

Two sisters, Birdie Merryman and Betty R. Wheatley, also preceded her in death.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with Amos Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
