David Garner

SIKESTON - David Freddie Garner, 89, died April 15, 2002, at the Miner Nursing Center.

Born Feb. 27, 1913, in Marion County, Ala., son of the late James Charlie and Ethel Cox Garner, he lived in Winfield, Guin and Beaverton, Ala., before moving to Sikeston 12 years ago.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Viney Threadgill; and two brothers, Archie Garner and Edward Garner.

Survivors include: one sister, Alta Hyde of Sikeston; and nieces and nephews, including one niece and her husband, Linda and Raymond Nierman of Sikeston.

Services were conducted Wednesday at Miles Funeral Home in Winfield with Dr. Charles Ballew officiating.

Burial followed in the New Liberty Cemetery in Fayette, Ala.

Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston was in charge of local arrangements.
