Larry Burden
SIKESTON - Larry F. Burden, 60, died at 6:20 a.m. April 15, 2002, at his home.
Born March 8, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, son of Eleanor C. Williams Burden Bridwell of Sikeston and the late Harold G. Burden, he attended St. Henry School and graduated in 1960 from Charleston High School. An airman first class with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, he played on the U.S. Air Force Falcons baseball team in Japan. He was co-owner of Burden and McClung Electric Company from 1969-80 and was an electrical and maintenance planner for Noranda Aluminum for 21 years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
On April 24, 1965, in Benton, he married Jane Bollinger who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Tracy Burden of Sikeston; two daughters, Lari J. Burden of Merced, Calif., and Kari Burden Dorris of Sikeston; one brother, Jim Burden of Sikeston; one sister, Sue Harris of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and five grandchildren, Andrew McDowell, Alec Burden, Hunter Ray, Ty Burden and Katie Dorris of Sikeston.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where a prayer service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church with the Rev. Stephen Schneider, pastor, officiating. The Rev. Tom Geers, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, will deliver the eulogy.
The Missouri Air Force Honor Guard Unit will conduct full military rites at Memorial Park Cemetery.
