Girard Sisson

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Girard Buell Sisson, 82, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died April 18, 2002, in Corpus Christi.

Born April 9, 1920, at Lawrence, Kan., son of the late Dr. Eugene and Dorothea Sisson Jr., he lived in Austin before moving to Corpus Christi. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. He also lived in Kansas City, Mo., where he worked as a design engineer for over 25 years. His second career was farming in Sikeston, Mo. He was an inventor, holding several patents.

He was married to Barbara Sisson, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Judy and David Hawley of Portland, Jill Thompson of Liberty, Mo., and Janet and Dave Emler of Arlington; one sister, Joan King of Alexandria, Va.; and seven grandchildren.

Private funeral services are scheduled.
