Lois Mitchell

SHERIDAN, Ark. - Lois Imogene Mitchell, 77, died Dec. 27, 2002, at the Sheridan Nursing Home.

Born April 19, 1925, at Dexter, Mo., daughter of the late Elvis Reynolds and Gladys Irby Mitchell, she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan.

On Nov. 1, 1941, at Clarkton, Mo., she married Melvin Eugene Mitchell who preceded her in death on July 21, 1984.

Survivors include: two sons, Melvin Leon Mitchell of Marlow, Okla., and Joseph Wayne Mitchell of Sheridan; one daughter, Connie Elaine Mitchell Stubbs of Sheridan; one brother, Houston Reynolds of Elgin, Ill.; four sisters, Helen McBride and Faye Bunch of Dexter, Sue Dock of Malden, Mo., and Yvonne Chance of Overland Park, Kan.; and seven grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one brother, E.J. Reynolds; and one sister, Janis Fowler.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Mo., with the Rev. Walt Hollis officiating.

Burial followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
