Stub DeProw

SIKESTON - Herbert Jackson "Stub" DeProw, 92, died Sept. 12, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Aug. 12, 1910, in Malden, son of the late Mitchell and Molly Craig DeProw, he was a member of the Bricklayer Union No. 1 in St. Louis and the Pentecostal Church in Tallapoosa. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

On June 21, 1964, at Poplar Bluff, he married Estelle Alexander who preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 1993.

Survivors include: six sons and four daughters-in-law, Cornel and Ruby DeProw of Seymore, Tenn., Bob and Nora DeProw of Malden, Jack and Dale DeProw of Decatur, Mich., Jerry DeProw and Gary DeProw of Paw Paw, Mich., and Johnny and Lori DeProw of Gobles, Mich.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Corrine Sandlin of Park Forest, Ill., Ola Faye and Jim McBee of Crete, Ill., Jo Ann Blankenship of New Madrid and Teresa and Dale Rice of Malden; one stepdaughter, Martha Kirchhofer of Sikeston; and 15 grandchildren, one stepgrandson and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Bill DeProw and Joseph DeProw; and five brothers and one sister.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden with the Rev. Bruce White officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
