Zelma Carroll
BLODGETT - Zelma Christine Carroll, 83, died at 10:10 p.m. Sept. 10, 2002, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
Born Dec. 15, 1918, in Neelyville, daughter of the late John Wesley and Cora Murrell Strayhorn and a member of the Blodgett Baptist Church, she was a housewife and homemaker.
On Dec. 4, 1940, in Sikeston, she married Clayton Carroll who preceded her in death on June 22, 1993.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Sharon and Lonny Blasingame of Dexter; three grandchildren, Dale Blasingame of Blodgett, Sherri North of St. Louis and Ashley McCord of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, Madeline North and Samuel North of St. Louis; and three nieces, Nina Summers of Ironton, Margaret Wyman of Jackson and Ruth Stucky of Denton, Texas.
Three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley. Lowell Blasingame, minister of the Church of Christ of Grenada, Miss., will officiate.
