Mary McIlroy
MINER -- Mary Jolene McIlroy, 88, formerly of Bertrand, died at 1:23 p.m. Sept. 8, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Dec. 4, 1913, in Bertrand, daughter of the late Grady and Lena Winslow McAdoo, she was residing at the Miner Nursing Center but had lived in Bertrand most of her life and 18 years in Gary, Ind. She was a member of the Bertrand United Methodist Church and was a foster grandparent with the Kenny Rogers Children's Center in Sikeston.
On Dec. 31, 1933, she married Calvert E. McIlroy who preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1989.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Ethard and Rena McIlroy of Gary; one daughter, Diane Stinnett of Sikeston; one brother, Dale McAdoo of Merrillville, Ind.; and six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Grady Donald and Dwight Winslow McAdoo, and one sister, Winona McAdoo Walker, preceded her in death.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rick Lasley will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Armer Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Ricky McIlroy, Randy McIlroy, Jim Stinnett, Tim Stinnett, J.E. Stinnett, Timmy Holman, Justin Pearcy, Cole McIlroy and Tim Sieman.
