Eleanor Hodges

MATTHEWS - Eleanor Sue Hodges, 75, formerly of Mississippi County, died at 5:50 p.m. Nov. 4, 2003, at Sells Rest Home.

Born Jan. 8, 1928, in Charleston, daughter of the late Charles A. and Ethel May Walton Clark, she had lived in Morehouse for many years and was of the Methodist belief.

On Sept. 29, 1948, she married John Hodges who preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1988.

Survivors include: two sons, Clark Eugene Hodges of New Port Richey, Fla., and John David Hodges of Bonne Terre; one brother, Jim Clark of Creal Springs, Ill.; one sister, Dorothy Sanders of St. Louis; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Phillip Dean Hodges; and two brothers, Russell Clark and Robert Clark.

Graveside services were conducted Wednesday at the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston was in charge of arrangements.
