James Hyslop
BLOOMFIELD - James Calvin Hyslop, 77, died May 28, 2003, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Nov. 28, 1925, near Bloomfield, son of the late Roy and Ethel Wright Hyslop, he was a lifelong resident of the Bloomfield community. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a school bus driver for 12 years for Bloomfield Public Schools and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Hills Church near Bloomfield.
On March 29, 1947, in Dexter, he married Irene Ellis who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Stephen Hyslop of Dexter, Dennis Hyslop of Bloomfield and David Hyslop of Advance; four sisters, Florence Bright of Jackson, Bonnie Brown of St. Louis and Betty Summers and Wanda Parks of Dexter; two brothers, Paul Hyslop of Bloomfield and Richard Hyslop of Birch Tree; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one granddaughter, Sunshine Hyslop; three brothers, Billy Hyslop in infancy and Arthur Hyslop and Robert Hyslop; and four sisters, Ruth Hyslop in infancy and Vivian Nichols, Mary Curd and Edna Harper.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Earl Elfrink of Brownwood will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
