NAYLOR - Ruby Lancaster, 89, died Dec. 21, 2002, at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born Nov. 9, 1913, in Alcorn County, Miss., daughter of the late Claude A. and Mary Alice Wingo Downs, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lilbourn.
On Feb. 24, 1929, in Alcorn County, she married Vernon Elgin Lancaster who survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Henry C. and Claudine Lancaster of Naylor, Norman and Helen Lancaster of Royalty, Ill., and Martin Lancaster of Cape Girardeau; three daughters and sons-in-law, Margie and Jerry Colaric of Coal City, Ill., Frances and Gary Baker of Harviell and Brenda and Tom Maschmeyer of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Oliver Downs and Ed Downs of Booneville; 10 grandchildren, Rick Scott of Palo Heights, Ill., Debbie Marizza and Eddie Lancaster of Coal City, Norman Lancaster Jr. of Herrin, Ill., Levesia Hudja of Mokena, Ill., Michael Lancaster of Newark, Del., Jason Baker of Fairdealing, Emily Baker of Springfield, Thomas Maschmeyer III and Luke Maschmeyer of Memphis; and 10 great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. today until service time at 3 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn. The Rev. Robert Medlock will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
Pallbearers will be: Rick Scott, Norman Lancaster Jr., Eddie Lancaster, Jason Baker, Thomas Maschmeyer III and Luke Maschmeyer.
