Margaret Barnes

EAST PRAIRIE - Margaret Jo Barnes, 69, died at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 22, 2002, at her home.

Born Jan. 24, 1933, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Luther and Edith Tanner Bailey, she lived in East Prairie most of her life, where she was a member of the First Church of God. She had been employed by the Manufacturing Company for many years and was currently working in the East Prairie High School cafeteria.

Her husband, Billie N. Barnes, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Claude Russell of Sikeston and Linda and Tim Nicoson of Benton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ricky and Kerri Penrod and Bruce Penrod of East Prairie and Danny and Patty Penrod of Sikeston; one brother, Clarence "Bo" Bailey of St. Louis; one sister, Rozella "Tooter" Kelley of Bloomfield; and 15 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and seven stepgrandchildren.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Larry Smith, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.

Pallbearers will be her nephews and grandson: Mark Bailey, Jimmy Dale, Glen Penrod, Randy Penrod, Mark Kelley and Justin Penrod.
