SCOTT CITY - Margaret Alveda Nation, 68, died at 12:02 a.m. Aug. 22, 2003, at her home.

Born Nov. 13, 1934, in Fornfelt, daughter of Helen Margaret Stone Brant of Scott City and the late Hugh Alvida Spriggs, she had been a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Scott City.

On April 3, 1953, at Ancell, she married Paul L. Nation who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include: one son and daughter-in-law, Garry and Sheila Nation of Scott City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Robert Eachus of Patton and Dorothy and Mark Newell of Scott City; one brother, Norman Brant of Scott City; two sisters, Mary Sue Wright and Karry Dawn Brant of Scott City; one half brother, Oscar Spriggs of Louisville, Ky.; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son and two sisters.

Visitation is from noon today until service time at 2 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Rennie Phillips will officiate.

Burial will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
