MALDEN - Ten Sikeston High School seniors were given physical examinations at the Malden Army Air Field Wednesday for their possible enlistment in the Air Forces. Those who took the examination included: Lee Matthews, Bert Moore, Billy Swacker, Tommy Roberts, Chris Porter, Bill Colwick, Billy York, Jackie Bill Foster Archie Alliston and Bob Mitchell.

SIKESTON - Clem Beal, Bob Scott ad Paul Buchmueller were named to a committee to handle the Lions Club's Christmas Lighting Contest. It is probable the contest will take much the same course as in former years with prizes offered for the best house and lawn decorations for homes costing more than $10,000 and similar awards for homes costing less than that figure.
DALLAS - President John F. Kennedy, 36th president of the United States, was shot to death Nov. 22 by a hidden assassin armed with a high-powered rifle. Kennedy, 46, lived about an hour after a sniper cut him down as his limousine left downtown Dallas.

CHAFFEE - Former Missouri Gov. Warren E. Hearnes of Charleston will be grand marshal of the 1983 Christmas parade in Chaffee Dec. 10. St. Louis Cardinal second baseman Ken Oberkfell will take part again in this year's parade, accompanied by rookie Cardinal infielder Bill Lyons. Theme of this year's parade is "White Christmas."

JEFFERSON CITY - Former Gov. Warren E. Hearnes of Charleston has been appointed to the Missouri Advisory Commission on the Organization of the Judicial Department by the Missouri Senate. The 15-member commission has been formed to study and report on provisions of the Judicial Department.
