DEXTER -- Clarence Parks, 93, died Sept. 14, 2003, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter.

Born Oct. 15, 1909, in Dudley, son of the late John and Goldie Lock Parks, he was raised in Dudley and moved to Pontiac, Mich., where was a metal finisher with General Motors. He returned to Dudley in 1972 and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dexter.

On Nov. 11, 1932, in Dudley, he married Mary Smothers who preceded him in death on July 11, 1997.

Survivors include: two daughters, Vickie Lynn Newcomb and Janis Trador of Pontiac; one son, Floyd Allen Parks of Pontiac; two brothers, Dennis Parks of Dudley and Clyde William Parks of Paducah, Ky.; two sisters, Laverne Grimes and Bernice Carpenter of Dudley; and 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, George Parks, John Parks and Millard Parks; and two sisters, Dorothy Crowe and Polly Miller, preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Larry Ward of Poplar Bluff will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
