Martha Blom

NEW MADRID - Martha A. Blom, 79, died Aug. 23, 2003, at her home.

Born Sept. 11, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of the late Ralph Anderson and Virginia Vestal, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Madrid, where she served as organist for more than 42 years.

On Sept. 9, 1945, in Gideon, she married Robert W. Blom, who preceded her in death June 20, 1998.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Frankie Blom of New Madrid; one daughter, Vicki B. and Terry Wilkey of Greenwood, Miss.; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Sandra Clements, also preceded her in death.

Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in New Madrid with the Rev. Lynn Quist, pastor, officiating.

Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery.
