LONEDELL - John Thomas Beavers, 79, died Aug. 22, 2003 at St. Louis.

Born Aug. 13, 1924, in Sikeston to the late James Walton Beavers Sr. and Clara Belle Baugher Beavers, he was employed by McDonnell-Douglas for over 35 years and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. A member of Machinists Union Local 3 of St. Louis, he was a member and past worshipful master of the Fraternal Lodge 363 AF&AM at Robertsville.

Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Walton and Lena Beavers of Sikeston; and four sisters, Stella Gosnell of Morehouse, Olive Cole and Francis Kessler of Sikeston and Kathryn Dover of Mound City.

Also surviving are special friends Sonny and Linda Barker and Bill and Dot Fuller of Lonedell.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Milfred Beavers and by four sisters, Margaret Ray, Tamar Cunningham and two infants.

Masonic funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair.

Burial followed in the Mounds Park Cemetery at Lilbourn.
