Dixie Harty
DEXTER -- Mary Elizabeth "Dixie" Harty, 85, died July 30, 2004, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at Poplar Bluff.
Born Oct. 1, 1918, at Star City, daughter of the late Blythe Willis and Lydia Graber Jennings, she was a seamstress and member of the Southwest Church of Nazarene.
On Oct. 12, 1941, in Piggott, Ark., she married Robert B. Harty who preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1999.
Survivors include: three sons, Robert L. Harty of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kenneth Harty of Graham, Wash., and Dwight Harty of Lenori, Tenn.; one daughter, Beverly Grose of Oklahoma City; one brother, Carl Jennings of Poplar Bluff; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Francis Harty; and seven brothers, Harry Jennings, Charles Jennings, Don Jennings, Warren Jennings, King Lamone Jennings, Bobby Jennings and Jack Jennings, also preceded her in death.
Services were conducted at 10 a.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Ed Stoner officiated.
Burial followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
