Tincy McDowell
WAPPAPELLO - Vivian "Tincy" McDowell, 71, formerly of Morehouse, died March 23, 2002, at her home.
Born Sept. 5, 1930, at Murphysboro, Ill., daughter of the late William and Roma Ellis Taylor, she had worked at the International Shoe Factory in Sikeston for 19 years and for National Lock another 19 years. She was a member of the Morehouse Baptist Church.
On April 9, 1950, she married Walter "Gino" McDowell who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons, Ernie Morefield of Murphysboro, Mike McDowell and Ronnie McDowell of Sikeston and Walter "Junior" McDowell of Wappapello; one daughter, Rachel O'Neal of Puxico; five grandchildren, Anna Leija Day of Morehouse, Molly Leija Goodman of Jacksonville, N.C., Sarina McDowell Watkins of Blodgett, Tobias "Toby" McDowell of Baton Rouge, La. and Bobby McDowell of Sikeston; and eight great-grandchildren, Amalia Day and Jon Tyler Day of Morehouse, Kailey Goodman, Lydia Goodman and Blain Goodman of Jacksonville and Jonathan Watkins, Levi Watkins and Whitney Watkins of Blodgett.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Randy Thomas, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Morehouse, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery.
