Alva Corzine
DEXTER - Alva Ivan Corzine, 85, died March 24, 2002, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center.
Born Jan. 28, 1917, in Bollinger County, son of the late John Wesley Corzine and Elizabeth Jackson, he had been a farmer until 1945, when he moved to Benton Harbor, Mich., and became a construction worker. He returned to Dexter after retiring in 1981.
On May 30, 1935, in Dexter, he married Hattie Marie Hutchcraft who preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 1985.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Lee Corzine and John Wesley Corzine; one daughter, Alma Virginia Corzine; and four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: three sons, Al Corzine and Bob Corzine of Benton Harbor and Jimmie D. Corzine of Dexter; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Vyron Yount will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
