Ruby Wrather

PORTAGEVILLE -- Ruby Irene Pinnon Wrather, 94, died Feb. 1, 2004, at her home.

Born Aug. 16, 1909, in Tipton County, Tenn., daughter of the late Mollie Louella Smith and Elsie Athen Pinnon, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Church of God PEO, United Methodist Women.

On June 19, 1928, she married A.R. Wrather who preceded her in death on May 17, 1968.

In addition to her husband, three daughters, Glenna Turner, Lillian Wrather and Reba LaFont; two sisters, Lucy Peters and Verda Terry; and one brother, Joseph Pinnon, preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Aubra R. and Annie Laurie Wrather Jr. of Portageville; two sisters, Louise Hawkins of Sun City, Ariz., and Imogene Woolard of Grand Blane, Mich.; and 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Leland Butler will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
