Bruce Slinkard

SCOTT CITY - James "Bruce" Slinkard, 50, died July 11, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 30, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, son of William T. Slinkard of Scott City and the late Elizabeth S. Schlosser Slinkard, he was a yard master for the Cotton Belt Railroad in Dupo, Ill., until 1997. He also owned and operated HouseviewOnline.com.

On Nov. 28, 1998, at Scott City, he married Mary L. Baldock who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and father include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Angie Slinkard of Jackson and Todd and Cara Mayberry of Advance; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Michelle and Tom Crosnoe of Cape Girardeau, Meredith and Bill Laughlin of O'Fallon and Kellie Marshall of Manchester; three brothers, W.J. Slinkard of New Iberia, La., Ronald Slinkard of Cape Girardeau and Troy Slinkard of The Woodlands, Texas; one sister, Martha Eifert of Scott City; and three grandchildren.

Services were conducted at 10 a.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating.

Burial followed in Lightner Memorial Cemetery at Scott City.
