Joe Forman
MATTHEWS - Joseph Gilbert "Joe" Forman, 74, went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 1, 1930, in Amboy, Ill., son of the late Gilbert Andrew and Inez McElfresh Forman, he was a truck driver for various companies for 22 years. A sales representative for Schwan's for 10 years, he also worked for Borden's Milk for 12-1/2 years before retiring.
On March 28, 1953, at Amboy, he married Hazel Lorine Etheridge who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Randy J. Forman of Lincoln, Neb.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela J. and Raymond Massey of Sikeston, Jody L. and Bryan Burgess of Denver, Jeana R. and Paul Wathen of Fredericktown and Jana K. and Jimmy Ross of Matthews; one brother, Morris Forman of Amboy; two sisters, Irma Swain of Hammond, Ind., and Darlene Haws of Rana, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Randy V. Forman Jr. and Sara J. Forman of Lincoln, Jared J. Massey of Sikeston, Bethany N. Massey of Morley, Mindy L. Witty of Altus, Okla., Michael J. Witty of Denver, Rachel M. Ross and Cassie R. Ross of Matthews and Madison C. Wathen and Lydia J. Wathen of Fredericktown; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy "Red" Forman and one sister, Esther Ruth Reuter.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the New Life Christian Center in Morley with Don Russell, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Floyd Powell, Rodney Warren, Mike Smith, Paul Wathen, Jimmy Ross and Bryan Burgess.
