Leevada Hinkebein
CHAFFEE - Leevada Lee Hinkebein, 72, died at 8:55 p.m. Jan. 13, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 4, 1931, in Caney, daughter of the late Ben Joseph and Ludwina Catherine Westrich Mier, she retired as office manager for Hinkebein Construction in Chaffee. A member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Daughters of St. Ambrose, she was also a member and past president of VFW Post 3127 Ladies Auxiliary in Chaffee.
On Jan. 3, 1951, she married Luke T. Hinkebein who preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1987.
Survivors include: five sons, Glen Hinkebein of Cape Girardeau, Tom Hinkebein of Jackson, Robert Hinkebein and Mike Hinkebein of Chaffee and Daniel Hinkebein of Fenton; one daughter, Mary Duncan of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Leroy J. Mier of Oran; one sister, Leeada Sheeley of Chaffee; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
One brother and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where parish prayers are scheduled for 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Trever Duncan, Jordan Duncan, Richard Hinkebein, Jeff Hinkebein, Garrett Duncan and Luke Hinkebein.
