MAINEVILLE, Ohio - Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Charles Grady Beardslee, 84, formerly of Scott City, Mo., died Jan. 15, 2004, at the Meadowbrook Care Center in Montgomery.
Born Jan. 14, 1920, at Blodgett, Mo., son of the late Paul and Frances Groves Beardsley, he retired from the U.S. Army after 27 years of service and was a veteran of World War II.
On April 22, 1956, he married Virginia Porch who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Douglas Beardslee of Cincinnati and Jeff Beardslee of Maineville; one daughter, Cheryl Beardslee of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Ron Dunavin will officiate.
The Missouri Military Honors Program will conduct graveside rites at the Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, Mo.
Pallbearers will be: Jeff Beardslee, Tom Beardslee, Doug Beardslee, Mark Castleman, Glenda Rae Beardslee, Larry Dunger and Richard Collins.
