WHITEWATER - Philip Lee "Laddie" Slinkard, 63, died at 5 a.m. July 14, 2003, at his home.
Born Jan. 18, 1938, in Allenville, son of the late Melvin and Juanita Pennington Slinkard, he had been an over-the-road truck driver. He a concrete finisher for 25 years with a Cape Girardeau union local and was a member of the Jackson Trailriders for many years.
On March 8, 1958, he married Shirley Evans who survives of the home.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, David and Tracy Slinkard of Chaffee; one sister, Joyce Moore of Delta; and four grandchildren, Ryan Slinkard, Cory Slinkard, Katelyn Slinkard and McKenzie Slinkard of Chaffee.
One son, Richard Alan Slinkard, preceded him in death.
Graveside services were conducted at 10 a.m. today at the Fairmont Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Chaffee was in charge of arrangements.
