E.P. suffers tough loss to Senath-Hornersville

SENATH -- East Prairie suffered a heartbreaking 50-49 loss to Senath-Hornersville when Quinn Dogan calmly sank two clutch free throws with two seconds remaining on Friday.

The Eagles had erased a one-point halftime deficit to go up by 11 at the end of the third quarter before the disastrous fourth.

Off the bench, Anthony Smith and Mitchell Winchester led East Prairie with 10 and nine points, respectively.

RICHLAND -- Richland defeated Bloomfield 62-54 on Friday to even its record at 2-2.

Jackie Smith and Blake Waters shared the scoring lead with 16 points apiece. Cameron Whittaker added 11.

Nick Roe (14) and Chris Battles (10) led Bloomfield.

Bloomfield's junior varsity edged Richland 66-63.

BELL CITY - The Bell City Cubs saw five players reach double figures as they cruised by the Bobcats.

The Cubs were led by freshman D.D. Gillespie's 19 points. Another freshman, Phillip Gross, had 14 points.

"We really had a lot of guys step up and we got two big wins this week," said Bell City coach David Heeb. "We're really close to putting together a whole game but we haven't done that yet. I really think our younger kids are going to help us down the stretch."

Jeff Liggins had 15 points, A.J. Henry had 12 points and Blaine Stewart had 12 points.

Delta was led by Brent Menz's 22 points. Kevin Bartels added 18 points. Aaron Kinder followed up with 14 points and Cody Crowden had 11 points.

ORAN - Mark Dannenmueller scored 30 points in a road win. Mark Johnston added 11 for the Rams (3-2). Ryan Bouge was Oran's top scorer with 11 points.

PERRYVILLE - Kelly used a 22-14 fourth quarter edge to win on the road.

Michael Glastetter scored 14 points to lead Kelly, and Kendal Deason added 13. St. Vincent was led by Alex Armbruster, who scored 16 points.
