William Chesser
JASONVILLE, Ind. - Jason J. Chesser, 71, formerly of Canalou, Mo., and Indianapolis, died at 11:05 a.m. July 16, 2003, at his home.
Born March 1, 1932, in Lamar, Ark., son of the late Charlie F. and Maude Stone Chesser, he was a roofer with local No. 119 of Indianapolis for 37 years. A member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Jasonville, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a Bronze Star recipient.
On May 28, 1977, he married Mary A. Holloway who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Gunnery Sgt. Vernon M. Matagulay of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, James Chesser of Mooresville and Denver C. Chesser of Plainfield; and one grandson, Trevor Matagulay of San Diego.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Casey; and two brothers, John Chesser and Lon Chesser.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Blessed Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Ross and the Rev. Jerry Ross officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
