Carolyn Whitfield
CHAFFEE -- Carolyn Mae Whitfield, 73, died June 9, 2004, at her home.
Born Oct. 12, 1930, in Puxico, daughter of the late Harvey Leroy and Jessie Marie Litzelfelner Burnett, she retired as a cashier clerk for Associated Natural Gas Co. in Chaffee. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee and the Daughters of St. Ambrose.
On Oct. 5, 1953, she married Henry Joseph Whitfield, who preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 1989.
Three brothers also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: four sons, Chris Whitfield of North Vernon, Ind., Jay Whitfield and James Whitfield of Cape Girardeau and Kevin Whitfield of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Emily Whitfield of Chaffee; two brothers, James Burnett of Miles City, Mont., and John Burnett of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Hindman of Chaffee and Betty Kennedy of St. Michaels, Md.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. The Rev. Ralph Duffner will officiate.
Burial will follow in the St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Chris Whitfield, Jay Whitfield, Kevin Whitfield, James Whitfield, Dennis Scheeter and Jack L. Burnett.
