Bud Watkins

BERTRAND - Daniel Webster "Bud" Watkins, 64, died at 11:45 a.m. Nov. 1, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 27, 1939, at Lilbourn to the late William Jasper "Jack" and Edith Ray Brown Watkins, he was a self-employed building contractor and a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Navy.

On June 11, 1960, in St. Louis, he married Brenda Vance.

Survivors include: one son, Eric Watkins of Laurel, Miss.; one daughter, Darla Lomax of Collierville, Tenn.; one brother, Jack Watkins of Sikeston; two sisters, Norma Jean Wilson of Sarasota, Fla., and Alice Melton of Clearwater, Fla.; one granddaughter, Stevie Lomax of Collierville; and two grandsons, Jeremiah Watkins and Logan Watkins of Laurel.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of the Murray Lane Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley with full military rites conducted by the Missouri Military Honors Program.

Pallbearers will be Jack Watkins Jr., Nick Watkins, Butch Wilson, Jay Walker, Randy Kimes and Daniel Kimes.

Honorarypallbearers will be Larry Loflin and Dennis McKay.
