Curtis Moody
MALDEN - Curtis Ray Moody, 73, died June 1, 2004, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Malden.
Born Aug. 11, 1930, at Leachville, Ark., son of the late Urban and Lillian Pleasant Moody, he was a graduate of Clarkton High School. A graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture, he was a school teacher in East Prairie, Bloomfield, Perryville and retired from teaching in 1997 from Clarkton High School. Moody had also been employed by the Monsanto Agricultural Center in Charleston and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He attended Bethany General Baptist Church in his youth and was a member of the Charleston Methodist Church.
On April 6, 1952, at Matthews, he married Doris M. Green who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Debra Moody of Dumas, Ark.; and one sister, Bessie Hawley of Moody, Ala.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Moody, Jewell Moody and Urban Wayne Moody.
Services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. today at Landess Funeral Home in Malden with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial followed in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
