SIKESTON - Sikeston High School's concert band invaded Northeast Arkansas Friday and came home from Blytheville carrying a 1+ rating, highest possible, and the only competing musical organization to win the coveted honor.
SIKESTON - Sunday, April 1, 1962, will go down in the history of Tanner Street Church of God as a memorable day. Building Fund Director Rev. J. Lloyd Brown announced to the church that a total of $57,280 had been pledged to the local church's building fund.

BLOOMFIELD - To say third-grade students in Sheila Perry's classroom at Bloomfield Elementary School are spacy is not far from the truth. As a result of Perry's determination to bring space exploration and its technology to her classroom, she has been named as a Christa McAuliffe Fellow. She will receive $34,800 in federal funds to implement her OSCAR's Project.
