Elmo Westmoland
EAST PRAIRIE - Elmo Westmoland, 86, formerly of Sikeston, died at 12:15 a.m. Nov. 2, 2003, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born June 7, 1917, in Matthews to the late Sim and Rose Ellen Chaffin Westmoland, he had lived in East Prairie since 1986 when he moved from Sikeston where he was a retired custodian for the Sikeston Public Schools. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie.
On Nov. 9, 1986, he married Sally O'Connor True, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Ronnie Westmoland of Wichita, Kan., and Danny Westmoland of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Brenda Brodeur of Tucson, Ariz.; one stepdaughter, Barbara Allen of Maui, Hawaii; one niece, Maxine Nichols of Matthews; and 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Two stepchildren, Danny True and Barbara Hockersmith Singleton, one brother and five sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday. George White will officiate.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
