PORTAGEVILLE - Agricultural scientists will present the results of their latest research at the University of Missouri Delta Research Center Field Day on Sept. 2.

The field day at the center's Lee Farm near Portageville begins at 9 a.m. and continues through 2 p.m., with research tours and a break for lunch. The free lunch will be served in the air-conditioned "Son" Rone Hall at Lee Farm, which is 8 miles southeast of Portageville at the intersection of highways T and TT. A number of companies from the agriculture industry will set up displays at the hall.

The covered-wagon research tours will leave every half-hour throughout the day. Participating Delta scientists include Eddie Adams, variety testing; Michael Boyd, insect management; David Dunn, soil fertility; Joe Henggeler, irrigation management; Andy Kendig, weed management; Bobby Phipps, cotton production; Grover Shannon, soybean production; Gene Stevens, crop production; and Allen Wrather, plant disease management.
